Going inside the bank to cash checks- trashy or not?

Normally I just direct deposit using my phone, but wanted some cash and decided to go inside the check writers bank to cash a check since it was closer to home. It looked like the outcasts of the Arkansas student section were having a meth lab reunion.

If it's trashy to do things the old fashioned way, then I don't know what to think anymore...

Depends on what kind of check you are cashing.

Right up there with walking into the gas station to pay cash for gas.

Scrap metal/snowball stand checks, no way that could be trashy.

Smart and wealthy folks can do almost all of their banking via smart phones or phone calls to their investment counselor.

So the opposite of smart and wealthy is probably generally what one would see in a bank lobby.

The ZIP Code of the banking location matters as well, if you go to a bank on Martin Luther King Blvd., Anyplace, USA you probably won't see too many Skull and Bones members.

Just as trashy as calling someone as opposed to texting them.

Read books like "The Millionaire Next Door" and you will find what you thinks looks trashy is actually a large accumulation of wealth.

I may have told this story before, but one of the richest guys in my town drove an old beat up station wagon and used to pick up cans on the side of the road.

And this is what makes it not trashy.

A baller goes in, because he knows the president will come out and wait on him personally. Not the manager, the president, because he always goes to the main office, not some random branch.

Should we go ahead and say that random branches are trashy?
