Tracking People Killed By Police in 2017

I just watched a segment on 60 mins about the female police officer who shot a black man, in Oklahoma last year.
Here is the story, I am sure many of you remember it.
LINK
I am not one to quickly defend one side or the other, I think each case is different. Just because there might have been a race motivated killing by police in one situation, doesn't mean that every time a black person is killed by a police it is influenced by race.
Is a big deal made every time someone gets killed by police? If you pay attention to the media, it would be easy to assume police only shot black people. I have been logging in each time someone has been killed by police (there is a website that has the link to each story, I just log in the information whenever I have extra time).
Right now the information is from January 1st, 2017 - February 23, 2017.
Within that time 174 people have been killed by police.
Whites- 72 41%
Blacks- 48 28%
Hispanics- 35 20%
Asians- 4
Native Americans- 3
Others & Unknown- 12
And just for reference. The population of the top two races, in the US, from above are:
White: 77.1%
Black: 13.3%
The state with the most people killed by police is California with 26.
Whenever I finished this I will have more information, but I don't understand why, when a black person is shot, it is suddenly race motivated. And the guy's sister, in the segment, was saying the police woman didn't have to shoot, she could have done something else, etc...
Here is the story, I am sure many of you remember it.

Why would Owl be banned?
He hasn't done anything to be banned over.

Here is a good graphically-oriented info set done by The Guardian. I don't usually vouch for them, but their info checks out with FBI.
The most interesting thing is that while, yes, blacks are killed at a marginally higher rate than whites and hispanics, they are far behind native americans when it comes to actual LEO-involved fatalities. Who woulda thunkit?

A lot of people will be surprised how little these acts will be covered over the next four years at least.
It was something the MSM could link w/ Obama. While all of the 'black renaissance' (Twitter term) took place over Obama's time in office we saw BLM shite covered 24/7, we saw any kind of questionable interaction regarding a white police officer/black victim on every headline.
Well Trump won and everyone got a good look that the black community as a whole is not as one sided, politically, as they once thought following two elections that featured a black candidate.
What's been stuffed down our throat since January?
Feminism and immigration/illegal aliens and to expect any different moving forward would be unwise.

Are we also tracking officers that have been killed in the line of duty during 2017?

Data without specific context is useless.

The thing with the Terence Crutcher situation is, frankly, not unlike many others with black victims. One viable way to explain the situation would be to say that Crutcher "wasn't doing anything" to warrant getting shot. But I'll never understand why people would make this argument when he wasn't helping himself by being mobile and reaching into his car. The LEO doesn't know what's on the other side of the door. More situational awareness and firm compliance would have saved his life. I think the officer gets off if the charge stays as first-degree manslaughter.

The officer is going to have some problems with this case. Her lawyer screwed up BIG TIME trying to get ahead of things and said the guy was reaching in the window. A later released camera angle showed the window was up. Not that it matters as he reached for the door but they are playing catch up on that one.

Oh.
Seems petty.
Derailing threads is against the rules too. Hopefully they don't enforce that on you.
This was a reply to your next post after this one. Clicked on the wrong one.

I'd say over 90% of those shooting deaths happened to males... Where is the gender outrage ? /sarcasm
Can you imagine if the shoe was on the other foot ? What if an inherently large % of individuals killed by the police were female ?
