Pretty close to totality across SELA on March 30, 2052

Should see a total eclipse on May 11, 2078

if you're not planning on living that long... should get quite dark around here on August 12, 2045

if today's path put LA in 75% eclipse

2024 should give Louisianians about 90%+ eclipse

2024 is my best shot. 2052 if I make it that far. May be pushing it. 2078 if they have enormous advances in medical science.

the eclipse seems to be quite prejudiced against Shreveport

Was just looking at this with my 10 year old who I had to check out of school to see the eclipse...

Told him the best one for us, assuming we stayed put, would be in 2078...but that I'd be 108. He laughed and said, "You're not gonna make it."

Kid's a dick.

2052 I'll be 71. I may or may not make it that long, so I'm going to assume 2024 will be my only chance to see a total eclipse. May make that drive to Texas.

Depends on where you are. NOLA looks like it will get just a bit more coverage than today at just over 80%. Click the map for full size.

I'm already planning on camping on the Buffalo River for the 2024 eclipse. Hopefully the water is high enough to paddle and camp on the river for a couple days.

It's not that I'm questioning his accuracy, but his tact.
