The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
Northern Tangipahoa Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
North central Livingston Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
Southeastern St. Helena Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* Until 245 AM CST

* At 220 AM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Montpelier, or 11 miles southwest of Amite, moving
northeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
Independence around 230 AM CST.
Amite and Amite City around 235 AM CST.
Roseland around 240 AM CST.
Wilmer around 245 AM CST.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include
Tangipahoa.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a

Tornado warning issued for Covington, Jasper, Jones, and Smith counties in MS.

This one goes out until 4:15, which is much longer than the more recent warnings.
