There is a top golf less than 5 minutes from my house. I've been there twice. It's really nothing to obsess over.

Wrong. Kern and Jaeger own the land and are pitching it to Top Golf.

Too bad the one in Phoenix has that gaudy casino all lit up in the background. Arguably the worst top golf I've ever been to. Austin, Vegas and Tampa were all nicer, plus you didn't have to deal with the surly "Scottsdale elitists". Just my .02 cents.

The views from the one in Scottsdale are not as horrible as you claim
Location wise...it is in a great spot. That whole area is becoming a big entertainment area...plus it is a 5 minute drive from all the restaurants/shopping/bars/clubs in old town Scottsdale.

That casino hotel flashing all of those lights is ostentatious. Wanna be Vegas type feel. I guess it fits in well with the over-the-top flamboyant lifestyle of the desert.
