TOM III, live bengal tiger for the University of Memphis, has died

The only live tiger in sports besides Mike VII. He had just turned twelve years old and died of an unexpected illness.

TOM lived in a purpose-built 7 acre big cat facility that cost 1.7M to construct and employs five full-time staff.

Saw Tom lll last year at a game. Biggest tiger i ever seen. Thing stayed out on the field all game with a cannon and fireworks going off unlike our scared tiger that can't even do a lap around the stadium during pregame!
