To parents who smoke, cuss, drink,

in front of their young kids....., will you be satisfied if your kids end up just like you? Or do you hope they refrain from your habits?

Quite a few of my buddies growing up had parents that smoke and/or drank (considerate amounts) in front of them... I can't think of a one of them whom smokes and most of them don't even drink that much.

I don't smoke and I wouldn't encourage it around kids, but I don't see anything wrong with drinking around the kids if you can control yourself

What the frick is wrong with having a glass of wine in front of your kids?
If you smoke in an enclosed area with children, you're trashy. If you're getting drunk as frick around your kids, you're trashy. If you curse like a sailor in front of them, you're probably trashy.
Light drinking isn't trashy though.

I know very few people who smoke.
Every person I know drinks with their kids around at any number of social functions. Of course they are trash and get drunk in those settings.
Their kids will be just fine

This. It's been pretty well proven that if you exhibit the right way to handle alcohol your kid will have pretty moderate habits....at least from what I've seen. Most of the people I've known that have developed drug/alcohol issues had parents that wouldn't let them do anything and everything was evil and not to be touched.

My parents never drank more than the occasional glass of wine at dinner on the holidays... I drink enough scotch to put Mr. Glenlivet's grandkids through prep school.

Neither is the occasional effective cuss word. Rare but effective cussing is a tool I will have in my pocket. My dad did it, and nothing will get your attention like when a normally calm and serene parent drops a well-placed frick on you.

My dad hardly ever cussed or drank around my mom and lil sis. When it was just me and him at the deer camp/fishing camp he was a drinking, cussing machine. 
I turned out alright
