Never thought I would have to do this but there is a chance the Sabine River will get to my house. Tia.

too many variables not known

you may need more than one course of bags surrounding your place perhaps 2 or 3

a gas water/sludge pump
bags/sand
volunteers
time to set up

and a proper assessment of what u r up against...

Stack them like bricks. Dont line up all the seams because that creates a weak point. Put the middle of the bag on top on the in between section of two on bottom

Use heavy sheet vinyl between sand bag layers at your doors, low windows, and weep holes if you have a brick vineer structure. If you have enough sandbags ring your whole house.

Thanks guys. No weep holes or low windows so I should only have to do doors.

Obviously don't just sand door jam to door jam... start on either side of the door and sort of bow it out a little. I usually put a tarp at the bottom rapped around a towel and then pile the bags on top of that. Sort of acts like a gasket/seal. Best of luck to you and yours.
