Need a descent place to get the tint removed from the front seat windows. I bought my truck used and wasn't told it would be a problem until I went to get the inspection sticker (brake tag for the morons).
There are plenty of places, both on the North and South shores, where you can get an inspection sticker with illegal tint. I'm not going to post them in case you are law enforcement, but not being able to get a sticker shouldn't be the reason why you would want to remove your tint.

I've also been in Texas for a while and am quite a bit overdue for another inspection.

If you get caught, the fines are not worth the price you'd pay to remove the illegal tint and re-tint to make it legal, provided you get caught multiple times, as the fines increase:
La. RS 32:361.1
E. Except as provided in Subsections G and H of this Section, anyone who operates a motor vehicle registered in this state in violation of the provisions of this Section shall be fined not more than one hundred fifty dollars for a first offense, not more than two hundred fifty dollars for a second offense, and not more than three hundred fifty dollars for a third or subsequent offense.
