do you even real world bro?

i'm 49 and haven't bought a book except for pleasure since i was at LSU.

it has NOTHING to do with the free market. it is COLLUSION with educational boards pure and simple.

You could save money on textbooks and learn about marine diesel engines in the navy, man. Hell they'll pay you to learn about them.

I worked at CTX off and on for like 3 years (mostly during semester start or "rush") and got free books.

i suggest everyone go ask them if they need help during rush before fall semester. its pretty shitty work, but hey... free books.

now that i think about it, is CTX even there anymore?

No idea. It was the one thing I couldn't complain about going back to school.

I have access to all the textbooks I will need for my entire program. They were all loaded up on vitalsource.com the first day of class. There is even an app on my phone where I can access all the books at. Makes it easier to get all the readings done for class.

You could argue that there is no such thing as a free market, because there isn't, but by our definition, this pricing is set in a free market.

Book is written and published. Book is marketed. Book is selected. Book is sold.

Naw man... they'll learn you. I went through all kinds of really good schools.

Or you could do what some people do... 20+ years, retirement pay, and work somewhere like Walmart or Home Depot. A lot of my buddies that stayed in ended up doing officer programs so now when they retire they'll be making pretty good money.

If you do it right you go to school while in and let them pay for 80% of it, get out with a degree and experience. Nukes make a lot of money when they get out without a degree.

Digital book rental is they make you sign up on a website and you can access the book there digitally, instead of a physical paper copy

I covered that in my first post. Few Profs write their own textbooks either. I had a few, and they were all priced in line with most texts.
