Time for Watterson to pick up the pens and get back in the game.

Bloom County dropped a hint today.

Would be thrilled if he did, but Bill Watterson strikes me as the kind of guy who when he says that he's done, he means it.

Otherwise he wouldn't have given the green light to have the C&H complete collection created.

I know he will never go back to working with newspaper deadlines. Just won't ever happen. But I was hopeful that he would at least do a book here and there, something at his own leisure with no pressure. Kind of surprised he hasn't, unless he's just completely moved on.

Maybe they'll get back from exploring.

I love the article about him coming back to do Pearls Before Swine.

As much as I'd like to see him come back, Watterson is the ultimate recluse. He likes his privacy and I think that is a major reason, among many others, why he isn't coming back to the game.

The art form is also close to dying.

Going through the papers from the 40's on microfiche, it has been pretty cool to see the comics. They took their comics seriously back then.

would be nice. Bloom County fricking sucks - am sick of seeing a post about it on here every day.

C&H is legendary though.

I've yet to see a funny strip of Bloom County, but I only see the dreck posted here.

I imagine nostalgia makes it seem funny.

bloom county was sometimes very very funny
the storyline where opus tries to help Steve quit smoking comes to mind immediately...search it out and see what you think

I'll look into it, but that was decades ago. Some should take Seinfeld's advice/example of always leave them wanting more.

Don't look for Watterson to ever restart. He's not that sort of guy.

I wonder if Watterson would do C&H online and work according to his own deadlines and post strips or story arcs when he wants to. Kind of like what Seinfeld does with Cars, Coffee, Comedians. Have a few corporate sponsors and make the money that way and then give the world what we want.

Best comic strip of all time, in my opinion. Miss it.
