Here's the really fricked part. The people in the hood call an ambulance for an upset tummy and they go before you so the ambulance can be freed up. Doesn't matter that you have been waiting longer and are in more pain.

I’m now humoring myself. We are almost at 6 hours, I believe.

And my serial down voter made an appearance …

Yes, there is but I prefer to keep most details about why we are here out of this forum. It’s best considering the situation.

The smell of weed is prevalent in the ER tonight. I am amazed at the ones who I have seen couldn’t even muster up the strength to walk themselves into the ER room when called back but somehow walk out under their own power.

Medicine is alive and well.

Yup, stuff like knee pain for 3 months. STD checks. Congestion. Baby sitting for multiple psychs. Headaches for 2 weeks.

The ER in most locales is a vision of hell.

Thanks for doing right by yo’ momma.

Hope the best possible outcome for her.

My last trip was in about 1983 at ~2:00 am, self-reported with rust particles in my sclera (the white part of the eye).

Doc says he can authorize an ambulance ride to Big Charity or he’ll try to dig them out in situ with a hypodermic needle. Sober (but sleep-deprived) me says option B and he successfully handled up on it.

No anesthetic and I obviously got to watch the entire procedure.

That’s all I got.

Good luck and good morning all.

Two words: chest pain

It is the golden ticket

Maybe back in the day... now they will do a quick EKG in triage, confirm it's not a STEMI and put you back in waiting room.

People will ambulance over for a sore throat and runny nose

And when we call in the report we either tell the nurse they can go to the waiting room or they tell us,,,,know this, unless you are totally bed confined or have a serious illness or injury, calling an ambulance won’t get you seen faster, it’ll only generate another bill for you to pay

Saw so many people that I know had less than $500 in the bank and have no health insurance. I was wondering what happens when the bill comes in. Do they just not pay and their credit tanks?

There’s this whole series on TikTok about people saying outright they will never pay their medical bills and don’t care if they tank their credit cause they can’t afford to buy houses or anything anyway

At having good credit, yes.

Ive had 5 congenital heart defects since birth and 2 open heart surgeries since 2021. I know how the system works

I'm sorry I used the noun form instead of the verb form. I hope you can recover

Our health (insurance) care system is great, doesn’t need to be reworked at all. The Market decides how we get medical treatment.

The primary variable that causes this issue isn't market-based and is purely governmental.
