a few weeks ago I was reading a thread that had an article posted about some girl who was talking about why it is the baby boomers fault for how this new generation acts--

just stumbled across this today--- what do you think?

this could be the same article, reads eerily similar.

one of the posts is about dancing at bonnaroo rather than dancing around issues-- etc...

while yes, I'd LOVE to fricking dance at Bonnaroo rather than sit at my desk and work, I understand that in order to have a future, I need to be behind this desk working.

this makes me want to slap a lot of people my age. if this is the mindset of my generation, I'm doomed. I do believe experiences create the learning curve and all that jazz, but how can we run a functioning society without planning for the future?

What is so wrong with banging the secretary?

I don't take articles that list one-liners that "sound good" seriously.

I feel the same way a lot of the time. However, I just remember I'll be called boss one day by these chumps.

Our generation will be fine. Seriously. We will be fine.

Imagine if previous generations had social media. They'd look just as bad.

How old are you? You don't come across as very old.

After WWII the US had by far the highest standard of living in the world.

At some point the powers that be decided it wasn't sustainable and that it needed to be brought down more in line with the rest of the world.

The economy was intentionally brought down as production was shifted overseas.

This process has been going on for 30 years.

We are not ever going to be on the same economic level as we were 30 years ago. If you think that we are then you are wrong.

You need to adjust your expectations for the future. If you need to blame somebody in your mind then blame our corporations as these are the tools used by the powers that be (you can never touch them).

The world is completely different than the world any previous generation experienced at the same age. Millennials have different priorities, but I don't see this generation failing. If anything, I see this generation being successful once we start getting into positions of real influence.

I'm just 26--

I don't have many expectations for the future. Enough to keep me going, but not fill my head with stupidity.

I love this generation. I think they will end up being the most significant and influential yet. They're gonna have to be, considering all of the problems the fricking boomers and generation x folks are kicking down the road.

I don't have to constantly remind people that I'm not a frick up. I'm come to work, bust my arse, get my shite done, take criticism/suggestions like a man, and repeat the next day. Constantly explaining yourself means you aren't doing what you're preaching. Actions speak louder than words so if you have to resort to excuse, you aren't doing your job.

oh jesus. if production didn't shift overseas microwaves would be $1,000, TVs would be $5,000, and computers would be $10,000.

Are you part of that older generation? You know, the one that survived via credit and debt?

The same generation that was handed the best economy this country ever had?

The generation of the hippies who danced at Woodstock?

You part of that generation?

agreed, my work and life express that for me.

I forget that free speech is for everyone and people say really dumb shite. Myself included, but I just feel that I keep coming across these articles way too often.
