could be but I thought the jackpot tickets were based on a percentage of the jackpot.

ETA: I would love to know how much of the $2 per ticket goes into the advertised jackpot

I think they get like $10K for selling a million dollar winner and $50K for the grand prize tickets and they make .05 cent off every ticket sold.

At least, I seem to recall it being that when I contacted the lotto about adding it to my gas station. They also charge you a gateway fee and you have to have a dedicated telephone line for the machine. It would have cost me money to have it in my little station in the long run.

ETA: That may have been the rates for just the LA Lotto.

For every $1 worth of Powerball sales, half goes to prizes, 40 percent to causes such as education, and 10 percent to retailers who sell the tickets and other administrative costs, Grief said.

Store gets the max payout of $1 million dollars.

Clerks get $0 . Nothing.

Winner can give the clerks tips if the tickets weren't purchased from a vending machine.

So each prize winner will get $130 Mil give or take if they take the cash payout after the lotto fees and taxes

Where are you all getting this info?

The cash value is nearly $985 million divided by 3.

Nearly $330 million dollars each before taxes. Some don't have to pay state taxes.

Around $200 million each after taxes?
