I've done this one. 15+ hours.

Also, stay safe in Jo'burg. The rumours are real- don't frick around at night. Be where you're going to be before dark.

10.5/9.5 is not that bad at all. You need at least that to go places like Greece.

They are flying nonstop from San Francisco to Singapore but not NYC. I picked a couple of dates and I did not see any direct flights for the NYC/singapore route

Bangkok to Nola on our return trip was 5 flights, 30+ hours of flight time, and at least 40+ hours of airport & flight time combined.

That's what you get for booking the cheapest possible flight to Asia . I don't know if I can do that again though. I'd do the 16 hour leg on the way there 100 times again before I went through all that again.

The NYC-SIN nonstop flight isn't currently flown by Singapore Air. They did it using A340-500s and I believe will be restarting the route with A350s. The A345s were all business & premium economy, no regular economy seats.

My mother has flown SYD-DFW on Qantas, which is one of the longest flights in the world. She was 64 when she flew it (in coach) and didn't complain, but she's also fit and in excellent shape for her age. Not sure if she was on the 747-400ER or A380.

My longest was LAX-AKL in coach on Qantas (thank God it wasn't on United ), which took 13 hours. It's not so bad, but I don't like how you tend to get dehydrated on long flights, even if you're drinking a good bit. On the other hand, it was my first and so far only 747 trip (flew back on the same plane).

Glad I was young

I’ve flown Dallas to Sydney almost 17 hours. It’s better than stopping in LA and changing planes. Qantas offers a Premium Economy seat which is very much worth the upgrade. They were $3,800 each. A first class private cabin was $17,000 each.
