The USN is considering letting women into BUD/S training.. Really?

It will turn out worse than letting women into Infantry Officers Course for the Marines. 0% pass rate. But whatever, let the crossfit chicks get their shot, I guess.

Just like the Army's decision to allow them to try Ranger school. They know they'll wash out early and even the best won't last more than the first week or so. Nothing to lose really, women can't hack it but at least the Navy can say they gave them the opportunity.

I actually think having women on Subs is worse than letting them into the Seals, if they can make it in the Seals, let them have it. But don't take a 150 man crew with 2 bathrooms and limited bunks and cut it down to 1 bathroom because of 1 or 2 females.

Figured it was only a matter of time. I truly doubt any tons of ladies get through it. I just hope they don't change a thing about the training and if a girl actually makes it through then so be it

If a woman can pass the physical standards, fine. If she can't, fine. But it's pretty odd to assume that someone dedicated to fitness to an extreme degree just can't control him or herself around the other sex.

Especially when you're mentally and physically exhausted...pushed beyond the point a normal person should endure. When you're working on four total hours of sleep in a week, I'm sure sex is the last thing on your mind.

Was about to say this was a movie in the 90's.
I would be surprised if a female could make it past Indoc much less a few days at BUD/S.

Women have a different physical make up than men. For starters, their muscle structure means they naturally lack the same amount of upper body strength than men. I can't speak for the SEALs or their BUDs training but I do know armor. Here's a good example of why women should never be allowed in a tank.....
Loading the main gun on an Abrams.
The minimum standard is to be able to reload the 120mm gun in 4 seconds or less. A loader will have to be able to keep this pace up for as long as the tank is in contact with the enemy. Each round weighs just under 50 lbs. In addition to this, the loader is responsible for maintaining the main gun which requires them to be able to manhandle the breach block. To do this they have to be able to remove and manipulate the breechblock in the confined space of the turret. The weight of the breech is well over 100 lbs.
And if they can't hack it in a Abrams, I'm quite certain they could not hack BUDS.

As long as they don't lower the standards I have no issue with this.
I knew more then one seal and quite a few who rang that bell.
It is not for the weak of heart and it's never the muscle bound guys who get through buds.
