The Spanish Town Flamingos in the LSU lakes only lasted a few hours this year.

This is disappointing. I understand its a tradition for people to get them, but do these idiots really need to rush out in their boats and hoard them within hours of daybreak.

I would like to see them remain for at least a week. it looks cool from the interstate.

I'm just saying that it looks cool in the Lakes. People should let them sit for a while. I think it has gotten out of hand.

Baton Rouge Spanish Town Mardi Gras krewe. Every year they put giant pink wood cutout flamingos (their mascot) on the LSU lakes and people go out and get them. I think originally they were supposed to decorate the houses along the parade route, but you see them all over mid-city now.

I read title as they had seceded like st George and it only lasted a few hours.

Then I realized that Flamingos would be a dumb name for a town

Maybe they should do a better job of idiot proofing them.
