Yea it is kind of like saying that Dr. Dre was way better than Johnny Cash. Both sing songs but they are vastly different in their approach and have different fan bases that love them.

well I'm no band geek, so I really don't give two shits about how you blow your trombone. If I have to sit through a college band I'd like to at least be entertained. And for that, I would prefer to watch SUs band. Having watched both bands- LSU most recently- I can tell you that I find LSUs band very underwhelming. SU has much more energy and seems to put more effort into their performance. Not saying LSU doesn't try, just saying SU puts on the better performance.

SU puts on a better performance by far. My experience with the LSU band the past few years is watching them sit on their arse in the south end zone while ac/dc and other crappy music blares on the stadium speakers

I've seen some of the supposedly great college marching bands: LSU, A&M, Alabama. No matter who it is, it takes me like 30 seconds to figure out what song they're playing. "Better technique" only goes so far on a Tuba or trumpet. Marching bands exist for one reason: to drum up excitement, whether for a football team or for a parade. Southern does that better than those others I mentioned.

The lsu band sucks. I usually go pee or something when they play halftime unless there's a celebrity performance like lee greenwood

FYI, not sure their exact name, but the Kansas City Falcons are marching again tonight, in Morpheus, and tomorrow in Tucks. I am not sure if the Falcons include the drumline or just the girls marching with them.
