Most sales positions involve some level of sleaze.
But by far the worst are salesmen who "sell" entrepreneurship in some form or another. Be it a MLM, or someone who has a program to teach you how to engage in some speculative sales field (flipping houses), etc.
If you're peddling the profession of sales itself, and not a product, you're by definition full of shite.

I do not like to make light of how a man earns a living....but I don't have a lot of respect for a handful of lawful professions that I have encountered. There are some that seem to be made up of a disproportionate amount of real scum bags.

The ambulance chaser variety of lawyers
chiropractors
politicians
government bureaucrat
any "nonprofit" that exists to consume tax dollars
I have a rapidly growing skepticism and distrust of lot of people in non-STEM fields of higher ed lately.

As one that once spent time among them, it is not so much that they are sleazy, it is the high incidence of text book mental illness that really sets them apart.

You forgot insurance agents. Literally 90 percent are crooks. I worked for one of the major providers and some of these dirtbag agencies are charging 40 percent commission for non medical policies...
