Yeah, I was talking to my mom about what to do if the power were to go out. The usual response is to keep the fridge door closed as much as possible, like for a hurricane - but then I remembered that it might be colder outside than in the fridge. You could just stick your stuff outside.

Nothing like a cold snap or a holiday falling on a weekend (i.e. OBs inducing labors or doing c-sections on Friday to avoid working on that holiday weekend) to create a noticeable spike in birth rates that isn't related to a holiday nine months before.
