I'm just glad it's still open to keep some of the hackers off of the better courses

Same with Howell and Dumas

Ive only ever seen them checked on the weekends. I called friday to get tee times and I was told no one else had one in the afternoon. Next day, boom every single hole was a wait.

Well, shall i say, Santa Maria is nice to me. I don't play enough golf to spend over $80 on any course. And i know even if it's $35 for a round, not to expect much, but i at least expect hole markers. Hell, loose leaf paper and tape a drawing of each hole to the tee box would suffice. And maybe send out a part timer with a poop scooper around the greens.

Costs $35 to play that course? Last time I played it the fee was like $12 + cart (But you really don't need a cart for that walk). It was barely worth that.

It was the best deal in town.

That, and the blow at David's house.

When I still played golf, it never occurred to me to play LSU's course. It wasn't laid out very well and wasn't well maintained even 20 years ago, IIRC.

On the other hand, City Park was just up Dalrymple - I could pay $3.50 (to walk) and play all day on Saturday and Sunday.

Only 6 holes on that course are worth playing 7,8,9 and 16,17,18. 7,8,9 cost more the rest of other 12 holes combined. LSU actually paid to have those three really designed after they saw how terrible the other holes were going to be.

It's my most hated course in the world.

There isn't a fairway on earth that you can consistently split and still lose a golf ball. LSU has about 7 of them. It's hard as granite.

The greens are burned and hard as petrified dinosaur shite, they have a fuking sewage ditch running through 3 different holes' landing zones.

They typically have between 50 and 2,000 people playing at any given time, half of which have never picked up a club before.

The last time we played there the course marshal rolls up to us and tries to insinuate that we were beating the greens with wedges on purpose to screw them up. I was like, WTF could make them look any worse.

That was the last straw. We will never play there again.

Terrible course and an idiot marshal. No thanks.

So you drive down the middle every time and lose a ball? Sure.

The greens were actually in great shape this weekend. And either you hit your drives 360 yards or you duff and hit into the ditch. If you were decent you should never lose a ball at LSU. You can slice across 3 fairways and still have an open shot to the green.

LSU is a disaster these days. I won't play it again.

Last time I played (on a saturday morning no less), all the hole markers wear torn down/broken, no water coolers, terrible condition, no carts to be had, and there were 5 student workers in the clubhouse sitting around playing on their phones.

The students were just letting anyone who walked up go right out on the course and play, leaving no carts for those people with actual tee times. Somehow never had a single person behind me though, although in front of me was slow as molasses.

They would be best served to either clean house and renovate, or close it all together.

So you're saying a sewage ditch running through a golf course is acceptable?
