I have seen them used with car in tow situations, a vehicle limping to the next exit way under the speed limit or trucks that nearly stall on steep grades. But rain, that is just dumb.

I've had to drive family members to the hospital a few times. I put my hazards on so when I'm passing everyone up and blowing through intersections, people at least know I'm not driving like that to be a dickhead

Frankly, if you require someone's hazard lights on to see them in the rain, you should pull over

Do I have the OT's permission to turn on my hazards in that situation? Or is it still a no no?

God forbid a driver make their car more visible in heavy rain.

This is one of those things that people latch on and impart some huge significance so they can bitch about it. Nobody is confused when people put their hazard lights on in heavy rain. It absolutely improves visibility and if it's not against the law, there should be no issues.

How long have you lived in Louisiana? Or near any of the Gulf coast?

A man who can't drive in bad weather needs to step up.

My entire life

For the record the only time I ever put my hazards on is when it goes from a slight drizzle to fricking blind rain and I go from 70+ to 40 in just a few yards.

That doesn't happen often.
