The CBS News show "Sunday Morning" is terrific - and so was this story -

When I am in the USA I am sleeping at around 9am on Sundays. If I am awake I am actively doing something like driving to the beach or golfing. Etc. That is not TV watching time for me. Though I do sometimes record Meet the Press or Face the Nation and watch it in a day or so.

Due to the fact that I now live abroad and have "slingbox" the CBS morning show is actually a 4pm show and by then I have often chilled out for the day.

I am amazed at how good it is. Almost no politics but a lot about culture, music, history, trivia, health.

And they did this report yesterday that, well, dang, must have been a bit of dust in the air.

Credit where due, that is a fine show.

There is a hell of a lot of subtle bragging going on for a TV show thread.

I am shocked you would engage in such an elitist activity as golf, comrade baw

totally agree, it is probably the second best news show running besides 60 minutes,(in the earlier years, not now)

Code word for....nothing.

Tell me a network show that would do this feature about Misty Copeland who is an inspiration to so many girls no matter what their ethnicity (hint my niece wants to be like her and my niece is not black).

That is what I meant by culture.

I wish more TV was inline with this type of programming. Very rarely are shows able to pull off the apolitical commentary and still have a broad range of guests/subjects

I completely agree. They do a ton of actual producing stories and not ambulance chasing. I said to my wife last week that CBS should just do this show as their morning show all week long. Do the headlines and breaking news at the top, and fall to this format all week. I don't need to know what smoothies Matt Lauer needs to drink to stay healthy.

One of the good memories of time with my Dad is watching this show Sunday mornings with him as I grew up. I think of him everytime I am able to catch it.
