Most people don't realize what the grading scale actually means. A "C" is average, a "B" is above average, a "D" is below average, and an A is well above average. Yet it is expected that a decent student should have A's and B's if not all A's in every class? You're not going to be above average or well above average in everything. In reality, if teachers actually taught all the material they were supposed to and the grade the student earned was what they got, most good students would get mostly C's and some B's and D's and only an A in classes that they are naturally gifted at. Which may be one class per year. Like someone else mentioned, the current system doesn't allow students to see what they're best at and what might be a good career choice for them. Instead we have this watered down system where all anyone cares about is getting their stupid A so they can be on honor role and mommy can put the sticker on her mini van.

This is a huge problem.. That as well as the teacher's lack of ability to enforce discipline.
