Look for years I bashed anybody who spent more than 25 bucks on a pair of sunglasses, but that was because I was poor and stupid.

Flash forward to the present, and Maui Jim has consistently exceeded my expectations.

I broke down 2 years ago and bought a nice pair of glasses. The clarity of the lens was undeniable. I have 2 little boys and of course the first thing they want to do is touch glasses on your face or ride on your shoulders. This is wear and tear on your eye gear. The frames loosen up on the lens or they get bent, unavoidable if you are a father.

After I can't stand the lens popping out anymore, I mail my receipt, the glasses, and 10 bucks and each time Maui honors their warranty and sends me a brand new pair back.

Yep I sent mine in for a lens that popped out and they ended up not charging and sent me a brand new pair. It was out of warranty and I didn't have receipt.

Love Maui Lahainas but when the lens started splitting where the frame mounted,I had to send about $70. I also sent a letter and said I sure would appreciate it if they would waive the fee since they were only a couple years old and had been treated very gently.

They fixed them, cashed the check, and returned them with no response to my request. Oh, well.

I also have a pair of Costas that I love. Folks dog on expensive glasses, but I have had some cheapo owners say "wow" when they tried mine on in bright sun.

You hit the nail on the head. I've got a pair of Costa's and Oakley Juliette's. There is no comparison between a $40.00 and $400.00 pair of glasses.
