Snorkels in Tigerland ~90-94 says shut your whore mouth, whippersnappers.

$3 cover. $.05 8oz beers, 18 yr old drinking age. Nuff Said.

the place has changed ownership 3-4 times in like 5 years. What did he expect? Did he change anything?

That bar has always been shackled by freedom... it wears no man's chains.

Remember when the owner of Shady's got his safe stolen and he offered a $50,000 no-questions-asked reward for its return?

Always wondered what was in that safe.

I think a legitimate bar/restaurant could do well there, something with a hook or good gimmick. ... Something like barcadia would work there maybe, but that space and location is really best suited for a commercial enterprise, maybe a kinkos type operation.

Well it started life as a really cool billiards bar. No one went.

Well yeah I mean that was a known risk. I think knowing the only "close" bar is bogies which is 21 or older and they allowed under 21 at the Bandit which increased the target audience made it attractive to get into. Obviously, other bars in the area were competition too (tiger land, mellow mushroom, etc)

The bar/restaurant business isnt an easy one thats for sure

Nobody ever went there unless it was for a rented out party. They really should just scrap the bar idea there

thats why I said "close" I meant in proximity. Yes, I know Tigerland is right down the street. As I stated it is an obvious competitor.

Shady's, Tops, the levee, and the bandit were all 18/19+

A tiger land style bar will never succeed there

Barcadia is one of the best bars in BR but they can't even get people to that place for some reason

Probably bc the games they have are older than the crowd that attends LSU. None of them played those growing up.

I had never thought about that but it's a pretty solid theory. Another big part is college kids just don't like to party in that area when it's not gameday, all the females are at tiger land

I've always had good experience with their bartenders. Friendly and know what they are doing. Never dealt with their regular servers before

When they first opened they had the hottest bartenders in the city. Talent has taken a dip

But it really should be packed. There's so many different things to do and they have great drink specials and events and stuff (probably because it's so dead in there usually). I guess it's a Parking/location issue.
