If just turning your computer off and back on to make sure you haven't got Apps running in the background doesn't help then,have you got Malawarebytes-antimalaware and SuperantiSpyware?
The Malaware program removed 180+ things that I'd drug in copying Gifs.

It updates itself on it's own.

Download the Free version.
I've got these 3 and CCleaner.I run them all about every 10 days.Except the Avast.It's shields are up all the time.
