You'll spend a good 18-19 hours a week in the car.

I-12 is the Bermuda triangle of interstates. 18 wheelers just flip for no reason.

Slow as F from Livingston Parish into/out of BTR.

Where in BTR are you commuting to?

Or are you commuting from here to Covington?

Leave home at 6, and then don't leave work until 6. Enjoy your work day being 14 hours away from home.

Only do-able with flexable hours. Leave the house at 5, work from 6 to 3 (assuming 40 hour work week), back on the road at 3. Closer to 12 the better.

Flexible hours is definitely a good thing.

Where do you live in Covington? The 190 and Hwy 21 north can be equally as brutal as the 12 during rush hour.

In and out of BR on I12 is probably the worst commute in the state. I'm sure the commute from the west of BR is terrible too but I don't know anyone that does it. BR is the mecha of the worst traffic per capita.

Plant your corn early. I go from BR to N Shore everyday. I see stupid on the road everyday. It's actually turned me into an angry man :) the fricking douche 18 wheelers out of control. The fast lane is now the drive 55 lane. Texas drivers can suck a big one. Texans drive 55 in the fast lane all day everyday. Rant over

I commuted the opposite way, Central to Covington for about a year. Satellite radio and lots of coffee and beer. The worst part was the sun.
