haven't been to the original in forever but the one in Jennings is pretty bad. I thought maybe it was because it was a new location but guess not

If I remember correctly, the owner died of cancer?

Nonetheless, management changed and its god awful. If I want a sloppy sandwich I'll either go to Buffy's on 14 or Layne and Wayne's in Sulphur.

For all of you guys suggesting Darrell's.....how long has it been since you've actually had one?

Last summer and while they aren't as good as the sandwiches of old they still aren't terrible and there was a line to the street of cars passing through the drive thru.

here i will be staying, don't know yet.

If you don't have a place to stay, good luck finding something.

There are homes in the area that are complete shite going for $1500/month. It's insane.

The sandwiches the old man made, especially when they were located at their original spot on Ryan, were some of the best sandwiches in the history of sandwiches.

There's more than one. Because honestly, you have quite a few places you can live in Lake Charles and be where you need to be in 30 minutes

Barbe
Sulphur
Sam Houston

If it wasn't such a PIA to manage I would rent out my property SE of town.

Nah. Played a 4 man scramble there and remember it being a pretty unremarkable course.

When did you play it? I've been a member at LCCC for the past 5 years. It's in unbelievable shape and there is never a wait. 3 to 3.5 hour rounds are common unless it's a big 4-ball tourney.

I would also try Mcfarlands ( good sandwiches and beer selection ) and there is Blue Dog Cafe downtown. The Harlequin is a good choice for a steak.

And as someone else said, stay in the area around the casinos if possible.

Barbe is becoming bad. 50% of the students bussed from across town.
In LC, St Louis (private). Sulphur, Sam Houston, Iowa. Grand Lake is up and coming, just across the parish line to the south (Cameron Parish)
