I have a Samsung LED TV with issues. The screen went black, no audio no nothing. I remember a couple years ago that this was a problem with some Samsungs. Mine is 5 years old. Can anyone recommend a repair shop? Baton Rouge area.

Probably cheaper and way less of a hassle to buy a new one.

Same thing happened to my last Samsung. Some back light rig or something. Repair was going to be about $500. Bought a new one instead.

ETA: probably not the same issue. I had audio.

try LINK.

Most newer TV's have two/three circuit boards, are easier to repair than older TV's.

Lightning killed my TV this summer (also Samsung), and one board and $60 later it was back working.

I have had black screens and still had audio in the past on other samsungs, but it was the directv box. I reset it and all was good. I will be looking to buy a new one but I really hate to dump a 46 inch hi-def without trying to get a quote on a repair.

Does the power status light come on or is there any indication that it has power. It could just be a power supply gone bad.

the red indicator blinks and the Samsung " musical notes" can be heard. Yesterday I tried it and got snow on the screen for a few seconds and it went black. My satellite box is also either going bad or dish is way out of adjustment. So two things going on. Im going to hook it up to a different box tonight to try. But there should be snow on the screen if the cable is not attached.

Try to troubleshoot yourself with info from online forums. It may be something simple.

It's amazing what you can fix these days because of the web. Just this past weekend my refrigerator wasn't cold enough...I started to shop for a new one and decided to troubleshoot. Turned out to be a $9 defrost thermostat. It wasn't easy to get to, but I was able to swap it out and it works like new.

I remember back in the day when something broke, you were screwed!

It's probably a board. Google the model and the problem. You can get the boards on ebay. My power board was a simple swap.

Samsung had a problem with resistors a few years ago that weren't too hard to change. Go over to the AVS forum and see if they can help. It may be an easy fix.

I had this issue with mine a few months back. Googled the problem and watched a few YouTube videos of people fixing the same issue. 10.00 in parts online and then fixed it with a soldering iron in about 20 minutes. I fix my washer and dryer periodically doing the same thing. Appliance repairmen have to be hurting.
