Since the first family on Earth, some kids have been normal while some are assholes. It's not a generational thing. Stop excusing your family's troubles on "kids these days." I know families where some of the kids grew up to become doctors and lawyers while their siblings end up drug addicts. It's a mental health issue and she needs help. This is going to sound like absolute bullshite but I believe Disney kids has a lot to do with this. Their programs revolve around the teen being awesome and the parent as the idiotic fun ruiner. Teens try to emulate this bullshite in real life.

ETA: they see this shite on TV and think it's real. It's not real and you should have your mouth punched for motherfricking a parent.

My adopted sister and I are over a decade and a half apart in age. I was a straight A student, honors college, athlete, etc. She is a total druggie who refuses to drive and is disrespectful. She doesn't care about anything. Same parents since birth for both (she was my aunt's daughter and put in to my mom's arms immediately). I guess genetics had a bearing here. And my parents being older. Sucks for them, she will never move out.

All of that could be fixed with a weekend with ol rando in Hawaii. Where her age is legal.
