You know what they're talking about. A wrist tatoo is worse than a teardrop. Says a lot about you if you ever liked the idea of that.

So?

Why else wouldn't I get one then?
Having had numerous surgeries & delivering a baby it certainly wasn't because of the pain involved. Me not getting one is the same reason you want to get rid of yours. Because you also think they are trashy. Think Paige.

Fwiw, upper middle class is considered:

quote:

In academic models the term applies to highly educated salaried professionals whose work is largely self-directed. Many have graduate degrees with educational attainment serving as the main distinguishing feature of this class. Household incomes commonly may exceed $100,000, with some smaller one-income earners earning incomes in the high 5-figure range.[1][5] Typical professions for this class include lawyers, physicians, pharmacists, optometrists, dentists, engineers, professors, architects, school principals, urban planners, civil service executives and civilian contractors.[3][6]

quote:

In addition to having autonomy in their work, above-average incomes, and advanced educations, the upper middle class also tends to be influential, setting trends and largely shaping public opinion.[3][5] Overall, members of this class are also secure from economic down-turns and, unlike their counterparts in the statistical middle class, do not need to fear downsizing, corporate cost-cutting, or outsourcing—an economic benefit largely attributable to their graduate degrees and comfortable incomes, likely in the top income quintile or top third.[1]

Yet nowhere in your post did you mention it being trashy

You just said it never happened. So you are the one who needs to think

If you take halfway decent care of yourself and your tattoo, it will still look good when you're old.

Didn't think I needed to, but ok.
And I think I have more than clarified my stance on the subject. Tatts are trashy & I see no point in getting one.

I am white, and have no tattoos.

When I got out of basic training in San Diego, I got drunk, and tried to get a tattoo. The guy said "son, it's a myth that we tattoo drunken sailors and marines when they get out of boot camp. come back when you're sober."

I wanted a simple, red, heart, out lined in black, on my rippling, basically trained, muscular bicep/arm that simply said "Mom".

Since I was going back to college, I needed a tat that was FAF.

The urge never struck again.

I can't justify any reason for getting a tat.
