The Texas Department of Transportation and Louisiana state officials are considering closing parts of I-10 due to high water.

The closure would affect I-10 near the state line and could be closed as early as Tuesday morning, according to TxDOT officials.

“If that becomes necessary, it will significantly impact east-west traffic in that area and beyond the region,” TxDOT officials said in a press release.

They're lying. They're going to build a wall to keep Louisiana drivers out and make Louisiana pay for it.

I drove through there this afternoon. It was pretty bad. Texas welcome center had substantial water in it. They better open it back up by Thursday when I head back

Sounds like LA-TX border is fricked! What is happening with the LA-MS border near Slidell? I heard that it could get bad there as well and I have to drive that way tomorrow.

The West Pearl is all sorts of flooded, it's creeping up on the shoulders of I59 as well between Picayune MS and Pearl River LA

I-10 bridge at the LA-TX border is supposedly closing at 7am this morning. There isn't really a close detour either. Bad news for people traveling today.

I-10 Westbound: Take I-10 to !-49, then to I-20 into Texas and back to I-10

I-10 Eastbound: Take I-20 (into Louisiana) to I-49, then to I-10

I hope they don't end up on some mysterious island after that detour. I've heard about a island called Dallas
