No climb horse fencing to keep them from getting stuck:

Also Billy’s with horns will kill some of your trees, scrape just like a buck but a lot worse

Wear high rubber boots (Cameron reeboks won't work) so they can't run away during "breeding time"

As said, sheep are much easier to raise than goats. Raised Boar (meat) Goats for 20 years, hated them of the last 19.5.

They eat everything in sight and make sure they they are not able to get out and onto other people's property. If that happens you will be getting phone calls from some pissed off people.

We keep ours fenced in with just a hot line. They get put in the barn every night to keep them safe from coyotes. Only have 7 and they're like pets almost.

As my grandfather used to say, "Find the right goat and you won't have to worry about visitors."

"Field fencing" is great for goats. It will keep them in and comes 330' to the roll. I wouldn't be too concerned with number per acre as 26 acres will hold more than you want I would suspect. It will take a lot of goats to keep that much acreage down. Donkeys will keep coyotes away-having a couple donkeys around can help in that respect. Male kids need to be cut ASAP after birth unless they will be used for breeding. I raised goats for 30 yrs and stopped in 2016. Big concerns?-Goats getting out and predators getting in. Both involved having a damn good fence. Not as many problems when fence is new.
I also suggest contacting the county agent of where the land is to get information. Good luck to you.

Worms. You can’t rid them of worms; only control them.

Goats are born looking for a place to die.

Do it. Goats are entertaining which is a nice bonus.
