Gonna be in Shreveport for work the next few weeks and need to get some alterations to a suit. Any recommendations on a tailor up here?

I use Yong's alterations on Youree Drive. Good turn around time (I'd say avg. of 3 days) and they'll let you pay to jump ahead of the pack if you need it the next day.

I would find out who Micheal uses for a tailor. You can thank me later when you're sending crying onion cards to your exes.

Alteration Plus

This is what I used last time and it was solid. Turn around time wasn't great, but I didn't really need it fast.

There are two decent places that I know: 1) Louise's Fashions on E. 68th street. Don't let the location fool you - I've taken shirts here that cost more than their monthly rent and everything has been great. 2) Kim's Tailoring on Mansfield Road - They've done some excellent work on my suits.

Yongs has fricked my shite up multiple times. Do not give them your business.

If it's something real high-dollar you can take it to John Pickens and have it done by their alterations person. Not an inexpensive service.

I've used them 4 or 5 times and have always been pleased.

Did they measure you, or was it already marked?

I took them a suit from Dillards with the chalk marks, and they insisted on remeasuring me themselves. I wonder if past errors has changed their policy?

I was very disappointed with this thread.

I've got stubby arms - nearly every shirt I buy I have to get the arms shortened 2" (16.5"x33"). I took them a batch of 4 new shirts, and they just butchered all of them. You're supposed to cut the cuff placket, shorten, and sew a new one. They basically flipped the cuff over, cut, and sewed it back - so that 2nd button that's normally about 4 inches up the sleeve was right next to the cuff, and nothing matched up.

My MiL uses them for her stuff, so my botched shirts were probably an anomaly, and the person responsible has likely been sent back to Vietnam.
