You do realize not all tires are equal, right?

It's not where you go, it's what tire you get. Then shop around.

I just changed the tires on my f150. I never rotated the Hankooks that came on them in 52k miles and they all wore evenly due to the light aluminum body and engine. I could have gotten another 10k but I was going on vacation and wanted to be super safe.

I had some Hancooks and they were the worse riding tires I have ever had.

Tire ratings

you do realize that these tire ratings are self generated provided by the tire manufacturers themselves to the US govt. No government agency tests these tires. SO it's a general guide to compare different model tires of the same brand but are meaningless comparing different brands.

But generally Michelin tires will give you the best service and tread life. But you still must rotate regularly and check and adjust your tire pressure (when the tires are cold) frequently.

wanted them to still be covered under warranty. The guy working the counter said the warranty doesn't cover wear and tear.

mileage warranties are a real life thing.

I've used NTB the past couple of times with no problems. They have rotate and balance for the life of the tires. I always get Cooper tires.

Discount Tire - Pay the money

Best service in the industry, also road side hazard.

They'll replace tires for free, no question

i actually found some hankook hp2's for my wife's SUV on amazon for a price nobody can touch. Got the same tire place i wanted to use to agree to install (which wasn't the problem) but also include the rotations (which was originally not wanting to include)

Yeah. Man card takes a hit with the van. But it is so functional with 3 kids. Underestimated the wear on brakes, tires, etc.

Allied tire on Staring Lane. They've always given me the best deals after shopping around.

Allied is great. Staring or Airline. Both locations are great. They also have a location in Hammond now.
They'll match most any deals and they have decent budget tires too(better than NTB and Walmart).

ETA: in last 5 years, Twice I've gotten 60k mile tires on Honda Accord for under $600. Comes with free rotations for life of tawrs.

Is it possible that wholesale tires are just a cheaper product?

No man, tires are tires... They buy in bulk, that's how they get them cheaper..

I put BFG Rugged Terrains on my wife's Tahoe, from Sam's, and they have over 50k miles on them.. All depends on the tire..

How long tires last is referenced by the tread wear rating.

A tire with a rating of 300 will last half as long as one with 600

Allied and Tire Engineers will honor mileage warranties of tire companies who warrant the mileage

Read the fine print. Just because a tire is sold as a 40K tire does not mean the mfg will warrant that 40K miles
