Friends have asked me to go for years and never really had an interest but this year a groups of friends from AZ, WI and CA were going and I had a week of vacation to burn so I gave it a shot. It was redneck heaven and a bit of a shitshow but the people-watching was top-notch, the weather cooperated and the scenery/rides were unparalleled. What a beautiful part of the US to explore.

That's part of the charm, to be honest. It was also a much younger crowd than I expected, I thought it would be a bunch of grizzled old geezers but there were a ton of 30-40 year olds and the RV park we stayed at in Spearfish outside of Sturgis was packed with Prevost touring buses worth over $1 million each. I've always been a fan of the Old West and Deadwood did not disappoint. What a cool town.
