Jack Daniels is 2 hours away

Should be a Chamber of Commerce Day Sunday - 70 and sunny. Rain Friday night and Saturday morning.

Hit Winners (bar) and Losers (bar next door) in Midtown.

If you are a foodie, try Rolf and Daughters in Germantown and Urban Grub in 12 South.

Vandy play UK this weekend in baseball. 2 p.m. Sunday will be awesome.

The Predators play the Washington Capitals Sunday night.

Spend some time on Lower Broadway Saturday night if it is your first visit.

Great public Golf Course about 10 minutes from the airport, The Hermitage.

Jesus no

Urban Grub is fricking terrible. There are literally 40+ restaurants in Nashville I'd recommend over that overpriced yuppie joint.

I hate country music and I love this city, but I am too lazy to post more besides don't eat at Urban Grub.

I mean shite, even downtown you can walk to better restaurants like The Southern, Merchants, or Kayne Prime.

I have never heard one person tell me they enjoyed Urban Grub. I've eat brunch, lunch, and dinner there as its near my house and all 3 were fricking awful. Mayonnaise on my eggs benedict which they had the gall to call hollandaise, burnt steak I ordered rare, and raw, uncooked chicken for lunch.

Good macncheese though. Still not worth it.

this however, is a stretch. I've lived in Nashville and I love it just as much or more than the next guy but to say future stars are playing everywhere just isn't true. are they good? absolutely. still go and have a hell of a time.

You must not know much about Nashville. Paradise park has a strong local young scene and wouldn't consider it as touristy as the other bars. Urban Grub is pretty great from the multiple times I've eaten there, plus it has good reviews on yelp, urban spoon, etc.

Also, definitely go to Santa's Pub. And definitely get some hot chicken while you're here. My personal favorite is Pepperfire, but a lot of people seem to like the 'safer' environs that Hattie B's provides.

Plenty to eat and drink but as far as shite to do there's just not a whole lot in Nashville outside of country music stuff.

Come over and I'll make you feel at home! You can help me mulch, mow, and other general Saturday stuff.

You know, I will actually agree with you from a tourist perspective. If I was from out of town, and didn't like country music, I would probably have an incomplete and unfair opinion of the city. However, as a resident of 6 years, and hater of all things country music, I absolutely love the city. For me its somewhat of a quirky city. It's definitely a foodie city. And it is absolutely a music city in all aspects. Including being home to the best punk scene currently in America. For those of us lucky enough to live here, there is an infinite amount of fun things to do. And it mostly is due to the community itself, and making friends.

But yes, for one-time tourists who don't obsess over country music, Nashville can be pretty lame.
