That has nothing to do with it. It's a totally appropriate analogy because as employees of the government, you both work for the citizens and should be held accountable by the citizens. Failure to do so leads to corruption, unchecked power, and statism.
99% of the complaints on this board have nothing to do with an officer's actions and everything to do with the OP being pissed off about a law.
look at the idiots who cry about dui checkpoints, claiming cops who work them should be killed, and yes it's been said on here; and other such nonsense.
Those cops are only doing their jobs and manning checkpoints which have been deemed legal by the proper authority. So why are so many critical of and hateful towards cops. Be mad at the SCOTUS if you want, but it's stupid to hate some poor a-hole who is just doing his job.
ANd that's just one example.
Look at this thread as another example. We've seen idiots claiming the guy should have fired a warning shot, or shot the dude in the leg LOL. The officer did exactly what he is trained to do, center mass.
As I said , I have NO problems criticizing a cop for his own bad behavior, but that is entirely different than criticizing a cop for following the law, and appropriate procedures just b/c you don't like the law or his procedures.
