Go completely cold turkey.

Alcohol and/or benzodiazepine withdrawal can be deadly if not done properly. I would NOT recommend going cold turkey depending on how much and how long you have been drinking. I am a nurse and an addictions counselor and I would STRONGLY recommend inpatient to detox followed up with IOP and AA meetings.

Good luck.

Just based on the timing, I can only assume you cussed out the whole family at Christmas dinner, huh?

We've all been there...

Beat me to it.

OP:
You are an addict who can't fix yourself. Do what those who care for you recommend you do. Soon they won't care any more and/or you'll be dead.

Are you a stress drinker, a fun drinker or all the time drinker?

How old are you?

How has drinking affected your life lately?

Go to an AA meeting and ask someone there instead of the OT. Good luck.
