Lesson learned. First of all, next time cash out their money and put in a new bill or ticket that way you are only playing on your money. If the person wants their money and gets security involved you can just hand over the ticket with their money. If they don't come back, keep it.
However, I don't understand how you let them come up to your machine and press cash out and take the ticket. I would grab the ticket first or knock them out while they tried to get it.
I have had people try to pull this scam at the casino, insisting they had money on the machine that I was playing. Luckily the casino knew who these idiots were and would throw them out but once it took forever to handle.

I guess if I ever need a few extra bucks, I can just go to the casino and rip off all the slots players.
