12k…but yea. One of our neighbors owns a company that does commercial landscaping and also Christmas light installation. He works with him over the holidays and does pretty well. He gets paid in cash of course so he just started junking everything into savings.

They said "If you want one of these you don't need to drive it first." I walked out,
There is a class of new vehicles you just don't get to test drive from pretty much any dealer. High demand low production vehicles tend to have finicky first owners. Depending on when in the Raptor cycle you tried to buy one it may have fit that mold. About the only Civics that might generally apply to is a new version of the Si when it is still hot.
If the salesperson gets the feeling you are a stroke then they are less inclined to take you out on a test drive nomatter what the vehicle is.

They aren't missing a sale though. Someone else will buy no problem. Eventually that will correct, but for now dealers have the leverage.
Right, they can sell it today without a test drive, or in a few days to someone else without a test drive.
The old model is just gone currently.

I also thought the used cars were about the same as new. Until I went to buy the new. There was about ten thousand dollars in junk fees and taxes in the new car and only two thousand of junk hidden in the used car.

Dealerships know they have the more leverage over consumers than virtually any other time in car sales history. Car dealerships made every effort to lie, cheat and steal when they didn't have leverage. Now that they have control they will only act worse. They are going to put themselves out of business like Taxi companies to in relation to Uber.

Seriously, that's awesome. Good for him, and you for teaching him./

Thats pretty crazy to me. Would you have ordered it in black that day if he liked the way the silver one drove?

Local Dealership sells almost everything before it arrives. Nothing hardly to test drive.

How does a used Raptor fit that mold

but they wouldn’t let us test drive the silver one because we would not buy that particular car.
I would have told him frick off and I’ll buy from another dealer.
Dealerships are a dying business model anyway
