If I could choose I'd rather just go to a smallish house party and chill. But people usually don't want to do that so I'll be out at a bar I probably don't like with people younger than me trying way harder than me stay out later than I want and wake up with a hangover.

Small child and a 9 month pregnant wife. We are going to look up a NYE fixed menu from a nice restaurant in town and try and recreate it at home. Some friends will come over after their dinner out.
Aside from two miserable attempts at NYE parties in nola and a NYC trip with friends, it's always been a house party with my family.

Staying in. We have had the lady's family in all week and NYE/Day will be a celebration of quiet and relaxation.

This will be the first year and many that I will not have a family and friends party at my house. Just don't have it in me, I guess. And yes, everybody has been calling as to what time to come.

Unless you are single or don't care about football, with the NCAA Football Playoffs I don't understand the point in going out to celebrate New Year's.
