about the lying and mishandling of the situation than the removal of the statues themselves?

I'm just mad that people have walked by, visited, known about these statues for years without being offended and then one day they decide it's offensive...the problem is there is no end to what offends these "people" and after the statues are gone they will find another cause

What it SHOULD do is make everyone realize that elections really DO matter and your vote really DOES matter. Show up and make this guy realize he is NOT representing you. VOTE HIM OUT! Follow his career from here and make others realize what a fraud he is.

Not only that, but the majority has to suffer for the bitching of the few. Politics really pisses me off.

I guarantee you plenty of the people "offended" by these statues only became offended after being told to be. They probably walked by them for years and never once felt offended.

Just an agenda that will be backed by the "people" until there are no more street names, statues or soon to be parishes if any are named after the suspects.

Yup.

I've made plenty of jokes about the situation on TD but I'm upset about the one sidedness and how it all went down. In the middle of the night the decision was made by only a handful of people.

The Progs are in the early stages of whitewashing history. It's only going to ramp up from here. Reagan National will be Obama International Airport soon with a statue of he and Michelle out front.

I'd love to see if someone could prove just how much city money is being used as "private donations."

This is just how Communism happens. All of a sudden the population becomes powerless... imagine what they got lined up next as we all sit here with our jaws on the ground. Then after that no one will even pay attention to the changes

Uh, we 'the people' do not back this.

It's feel good legislation to gain votes. We see right through Mitch.

No middle class white person in their right mind would raise kids in NOLA. It's sad to see it become the Detroit of the South. It will probably get worse too.

Maybe it is stupid for the city to spend funds on such a meaningless project, but what good is it going to do you to get pissed off over a hunk of bronze and concrete being removed.

This is what so many are getting totally wrong. The vast majority of us are not so much upset about losing statues, but rather the fake situation created as justification to do so and the dick hole manner in which the mayor has gone about it.

I have no attachment to an inanimate object. However, I am sickened to the core at the thought of how all of this has gone done, and all of it so that piece of shite in the mayor's office can stoke his ego.
