If this is the case, keto seems like a decent option for you. At the end of the day, it is all calories in vs. calories out, but there are different paths to achieve that (keto being one of them). I personally don't care for those types of diets because I don't like that much restriction, but portion control and binge eating are not things I struggle with. If you're someone who eats in volume, something like keto is right up your alley.

Curious why you say raw carrots, instead of just carrots. How the frick else does someone eat a carrot?

You've never eaten cooked carrots?

Make sure you activate the almonds before you eat them or there's no reason to eat them

Of course I have. I just always laugh when people say raw carrots, or fresh veggies, salt and freshly cracked black pepper. I never understand why people go through the extra steps describing such basic foods

Although I just typed a whole paragraph complaining about it.

Eta: eating carrots raw is pretty much the norm was my point

Because sometimes the nutritional value is different Between certain food such as carrots and certain vegetables.

But it's soooooo good.

Also, good point on the carrots. Many people think eating fruits and veggies is some sort of diet food, when in fact, many fruits contain lots of sugar. Of course, they're better than eating candy or something like that, but many don't realize the amount of sugar some fruits contain

A decade ago I lost 45 pounds in 2 months. It's fluctuated slowly up and I'm nearly where I was then. So thanks for the post, I think it's time to do another round.

My favorite meal back then was:

3 fried eggs topped with
a little garlic spaghetti sauce (maybe 1 g carb)
chorizo
cheddar cheese
cilantro
a little chopped onion (maybe 1 g carb)

My kind of diet. And Diet Coke was OK for me, apparently it's not for some people.

I'll probably get dv'ed like a mofo, but acupuncture can assist with sugar cravings like you wouldn't believe.

Keto diet is fantastic. Give yourself 6 days on, one day off.

For my age I have a slightly above average body and get comments once in a blue moon.

I go to the gym about twice a week for a while, every day for a while and sometimes miss for a month. Lack of routine....

I attribute everything to intermediate fasting. I eat a huge lunch at one and a huge dinner at 8ish. I only drink water (have almost quit alcohol). No dairy, very little bread.

People who have weight problems have a lack of self discipline. If they look at other areas of their life and critically asses their self, they can make real changes.

Notable exception: blueberries.

One thing I have found that's been extremely helpful is my Dash egg cooker. It's an easy way to keep hard boiled eggs on hand or cook up some scrambled eggs.

I've found some uncured or dry cured pepperoni and salami slices that are free of nitrates. The brand name is Fiorucci.

Lots of coffee, good quality butter, flaxseed meal, etc. There are tons of recipes and food lists online.

Start putting away some money now to buy new clothes, because if you do keto right, you're going to be losing pounds and losing pounds immediately.

Have been doing lazy keto for 2.5 years now. My blood work, weight, etc were even better than over 10 years ago. The /keto subreddit is great site for support and information.

My advice to you during the starting phase is don't worry about calories or exercising for now. Just concentrate on sticking to the diet (especially the >20g carbs). When you inevitably plateau, start looking at calories. If you plateau again, initiate intermittent fasting (i.e. skipping breakfast). Then consider adding exercise or zero carb.

Good luck!

Lol. I assume this is a sick joke. Total absurdity either way.
