Just got back from Wales and England in a rental car. The roundabouts are everywhere and they work. Took me a few hours to get used to driving them clockwise!

Is this part of the infrastructure bill Biden signed? Im serious. Did they give each state a certain amount? If so, did state congress decide how it would be used?

Im just asking because there seems to be areas that are traveled by a lot more people, that should be fixed first.

No, the "infrastructure bill" wasn't for infrastructure at all.

And certainly not roads in Livingston parish.

They need FOUR roundabouts in Livingston and French Settlement BEFORE the population explosion that’s coming

One on the north i12 exit
One on the south i12 exit
One at 63/444
One at 16/444

W. Monroe got one a few years back and there was nothing but a bunch of crying from people that I guess were too ignorant to know how to navigate them. It turned a traffic jam red light into smooth flowing traffic. I wish they'd put more in state wide, I hate stop lights and 4-way stops.

All of this. They have installed a few in Hammond and it a regular routine of dumb asses posting on facebook how much they hate roundabouts. They are currently building one in Ponchatoula by the Rec Park and we desperate need several more.

Yeah I am not sure you understand how government works. Where did the money come from?

I understand that state and local governments already take in money, in the form of tax dollars, for "infrastructure", yet we all still had to go into billions upon billions of dollars of more debt to fund "infrastructure".

I don't have a problem with money being spent on infrastructure. That's something I actually think government should fund (and there is a lot that they should cut).

With that said, is this project in LP being funded by state money or is it money given to the state from the infrastructure bill?

That's rich coming from you. You do realize it says right in the article that it is from STATE FUNDING. Just actually reading what you are commenting on would do a lot for your reputation.

The state, in other words, taxes at the state level.

The federal gov money used to come from taxes mostly, but now it just comes from Biden's money printer.

But honestly the chances of these roundabouts being funded by the Fed from any recent bills is zilch.

This stuff takes years to plan and obtain funding etc. Again if you would have simply read the article you would know some of these projects started in 2018.

The simple fact that you think it's even possible the government recently passed a bill and it is somehow already funding a projects that are in the works in Livingston shows your naivety.

But I'm the one that doesn't know how government works right?

A roundabout at juban at 190 will be way worse than what they have now.

You think? I know the ones at Walker and I-12 were screwed up but the ones they installed at the Hammond / Ponchatoula Mall exit on 12 work great.

Every single dollar should be spent towards a BR loop/bridge. No traffic anywhere else matters.

No, when they complete current construction without a roundabout it will be way worse.
