St. Louis, Missouri area OT'ers, I have a few questions

I'm looking to move to the STL area by no later than the end of the month. I'm currently eyeing some rental properties in the South Hampton area. Is that area somewhat decent or will I get robbed and raped every time I step outside?
Also, does anyone know the staffing agency that hires for the Chevrolet plant in Wentzville(sp?). Or any places hiring in general? I've been using indeed but directly applying to a place has always seemed to be a better option in my previous experiences. I have a bachelors degree and previous work experience in education, oil and gas, manufacturing and production, as well as customer service. Can operate lift trucks, back hoes, overhead cranes, jib cranes as well as some other medium sized equipment. Type of job/work doesn't matter to me as long as it pays a livable wage. Not opposed to working 2 jobs either. The career center representative basically told me to come by and start a profile in person, so whenever I can get a couple of days off at my current job, I will come up and do such.
Just looking for a little help in getting pointed in the right direction.
If you don't wanna reply in here, you can email me at 7thwardtiger@gmail.com
Thanks in advance.

Cheap places to live in Ferguson

South Hampton is a decent enough place. Right on 366, close to downtown, close to both I-44 and I-64. I spent a lot of time there and I didn't have any problems. I also lived in Tower Grove and that area was super convenient as well.
Since Wentzville is far west of that, you could look in St. Charles, Chesterfield, or any of the northwestern suburbs.

I'd love to move to st Charles but places there are just out of my budget right now, plus there is no guarantee that I'll get on at the Chevy plant. Basically I just found the cheapest area to live in and I'll go from there. Hoping to not be up there long, maybe a year at most before getting back to Houston.

My large apartment at Tower Grove was like 500. Check that area out. It is the "gay" neighborhood, but it is super nice and close to the interstates and major thoroughfares.

I can't help with the job thing, but I live in South City right now. Have a lot of family and friends scattered around South City as well.
I've never met anyone that's lived in South City that didn't like it.
I'm in the Lindenwood Park area. I like the South Hampton area quite a bit. South City is really great.

Based on your avi and that you lived in Tower Grove, I'm just going to assume you've been to Amsterdam a time or two.

I'm currently in Northampton, and I love it. The rent is low, and my wife and I never feel unsafe when we are outside. South Hampton is probably even better with some cool restaurants and bars mixed into the residential area (Macklind Avenue in particular). However, like the other posters said, if you're going to work that far west of the city, that will not be a short commute to make each day.

My ex lived right across the street. I spent many doghouse days in Amsterdam. I loved that place.
