Sheriff Mike Tregre(sp?) was just on WWL. Says the LT "made a decision to shoot at the responding deputies, so they were forced to use lethal force."

That parish/dept has gone to shite since he took over. I was in law enforcement at the time and supported getting Jones out but damn.
I don't know how much is his doing, but it seems there's a shooting in St John every week.

Lt. came out shooting and shot up their armored vehicle before they shot him. Damn militarized police shouldn't have had an armored truck and that way some of them would have been killed too. Police shouldn't have armored vehicles and bullet proof vests because that's too military. They should have just let this guy kill his wife and family and commit suicide. Them confronting and stopping him is what is wrong with America.
Am I getting it right for an OT thread? I am just happy no one but the guy who twisted off got hurt. Yeah for "tanks" for police.

And why is that? I am just pandering to all of the "police militarization" fanatics of the OT. Or is it only OK when it fits their version of events? I am so confused.

Neither. It's because you are stupid ... and confused.

Either gramercy or SJP.
I think SJP.
Idk. I saw him picking up a bunch of ramen noodles a couple months ago on the road.

Can't even figure out what you are for or against here. Just that you are into calling me stupid. Make your point.

Good time to remember that per the national average - cops have higher rates of domestic abuse... and the NFL has lower rates than the national average.
Given everything with Rice and the NFL - why don't we hold our cops to the same standard with the same public outrage?

To be fair, his term started about as bad as it possibly could have.

I agree, and its unfortunate bc I thought he would do well, but he hasn't been able to right the ship since IMO.

You do realize that the cop-on-cop violence makes your attempt at analogizing sound stupid. Yes?

Good idea. Lets pay them the same amount too. Maybe we will get better quality thugs in there to live up to the standards. Fair is fair, amirite??
