CONVENT, Louisiana: On May 24th, 2015 at approximately 1:00am, the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a male subject carrying a gun and walking up and down Legion Street in Convent, LA. Two deputies were already in the area of Legion Street due to a previous call of subjects armed with guns near Winnie Road in Convent. Deputies had investigated the first call and found no subjects in the area around Winnie Road. Upon arriving at the second call on Legion Street, deputies came into contact with four male subjects. The deputies exited their patrol units and upon approaching them, one of the subjects opened fire with a handgun.
