If you’re going to the game tonight and get bored around 7:30, look up to the SW and you’ll see the ISS:
Time: Sat Sep 22 7:31 PM, Visible: 6 min, Max Height: 77 degrees, Appears: SW, Disappears: NE

77 degrees,
It’s not quite fall weather but I’ll take it. Thanks for the tip. Will it go across the moon?

Google NASA spot the station and sign up for text alerts. For some reason I can’t get it to load. I got it from someone on here probably 5 years ago and have been watching it ever since. Really cool to see.

Fun fact:
To determine degrees up an object is above the horizon, make a fist and extend your arm and line up the bottom of your fist to the horizon.
The top of your fist will be about 10 degrees.
So, to determine the 77 degrees up, count about 7 to 8 fists up.
But, I'll tell you, 77 degrees will seem like almost directly overhead.

Couldn't I just point my fist straight up and subtract one fist?

It will probably be cloudy

I love it when they do flyovers in Tiger Stadium

I went up and drilled a hole in it a few weeks ago. I don't think they know yet.
See if you can spot it as it goes over.

Yes!
But,if you look at the ISS a lot, many times it passes by low in the sky.
It's a treat to see it at such a high angle and for the duration

Thanks for the link. I think it's fascinating to see it moving across the sky at something like 17,000 mph and ~250 miles high. I never get tired of seeing it.
If the weather is clear and I can get outside to look at it, I'll sometimes point it out to friends or neighbors. I'm always interested in their reactions. Typically, they will ask "How do you know that's the space station?" and I'll tell them about the various websites that track it. Some - geeks like me, I suppose - are immediately excited about seeing it and have a grin on their face as they watch. Others are like, "frick this. My neck hurts and I'm getting bit by mosquitos. I'm going inside." I'm not sure what that says about their intellectual curiosity, but I don't think it's a positive sign.

It'll be hard to block out all of the light from stadium

ive actually been workshopping a Where's Waldo type book except you're looking for an AK weilding ISIS member in busy Jordanian bazaars

Not only am I going to watch, I’m gonna send and receive APRS packets to and from the ISS.

Then that would be the time to measure the fists from the horizon. It's just a matter of fist efficiency.

Do I have to go to the game to see it?
Posted on 9/22/18 at 7:25 pm to RealityTiger
I had my alarm set to go off 10 minutes before, I step outside and of course Nola has cloud cover like a MF. I was excited to try to see it this time, I have yet to see this damn thing!!
